Abstract
In this study, 11 types of wood varieties actually used or being used to construct temples in Korea were categorized, in terms of fire safety, based on their fire characteristics. To secure such fire characteristics data, the tests as provided in ISO 5660-1 were conducted with PHRR (Peak Heat Release Rate), THR (Total Heat Release Rate), k (Extinction Coefficient), and MARHE (Maximum Average Rate of Heat Emission) set as risk factors. The fire safety rating was divided into 5 levels, from F1 (most fire safe) to F5 (least fire safe), and for each wood type, a final fire safety rating, which corresponds to the lowest rating among the ratings obtained for each of the above four risk factors, was assigned. As a result, it was confirmed that all 11 types of wood varieties tested are materials of F5 rating.
본 연구에서는 사찰에서 구조물로 실제 사용되고 있는 목재 11종을 대상으로 화재특성 데이터를 확보하고, 화재안전 대책에 활용될 수 있도록 화재안전등급화 연구를 수행하였다. 화재특성 데이터를 확보하기 위해서는 ISO 5660-1 규격에 의한 시험을 시행하였으며, 위험인자 설정은 PHRR(Peak Heat Release Rate), THR(Total Heat Released Rate), k(Extinction Coefficient), MARHE(Maximum Average Rate of Heat Emission) 4가지 위험인자를 설정하였다. 연구결과, 화재안전등급화는 F1에서 F5까지 5단계로 구분하였고, 각 항목별 4가지 인자를 모두 만족하는 경우 최종 등급화를 하였다. 등급화 결과 목재구조물 11종 모두 F5 등급으로 분류됨을 확인할 수 있었다.
