Abstract
This study quantitatively evaluates the disaster vulnerability of Hanyangdoseong by applying an expanded AFV (Alteration- Factor-Vulnerability) model that reflects the structural and spatial characteristics of the site as a linear urban heritage. Building on the limitations of the conventional AFV model—originally developed for single buildings—this study incorporates exposure and management capacity into the basic components of alteration, environmental conditions, and inherent vulnerability, thereby providing a multi-layered framework for assessing risks in complex cultural heritage landscapes. To derive a comprehensive vulnerability index, the study constructs and analyzes an integrated dataset by normalizing Hanyangdoseong’s measurement and monitoring records, topographic features, climatic and drainage conditions, and visitor-use patterns to a common base year. Based on the results, this study proposes tailored disaster risk management strategies aligned with the four stages of the disaster risk management (DRM) cycle, offering a risk-informed approach to strengthen the resilience and sustainable conservation of Hanyangdoseong.
