Numerous museums and facilities for researching and preserving cultural assets have been carrying out renovations or extention works in recent years in response to physical aging brought on by time and an increase in the number of collections. These renovations and extentions are often executed on a small scale, without obtaining permission from authorities, and are performed by curators and renovation companies that do not have expertise in fire protection or disaster prevention. Consequentially, such leads to various problems regarding the poor performance and legality of fire protection and disaster prevention facilities, calling for the need to prepare countermeasures to these issues. This study, therefore, identifies problems related to fire protection and disaster prevention facilities within storage units upon visiting 40 museums, and suggests measures to take to establish appropriate fire safety performance at fire protection and disaster prevention facilities when renovating or expanding storage units.
근래 박물관이나 문화재를 연구하고 보존하는 시설 등은 시간의 흐름에 따른 물리적 노후화 및 수장품의 증가 등에 대응하기 위해 증축이나 리모델링 공사가 많이 발생되고 있다. 이러한 증축이나 리모델링 공사는 소규모로써 신고 없이 이뤄지는 경우이며, 소방이나 방재 전문 지식이 없는 학예사와 리모델링 업체에 의해 공사가 이뤄지고 있어 소방 및 방재시설의 성능 저하 및 적법성에 많은 문제점을 도출되고 있어 이에 따른 대책 마련이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 공립박물관 40개소 답사를 통하여 도출된 수장고 내 소방 및 방재시설의 문제점을 제시하고 이에 수장고 리모델링이나 적층식 증축 시 적절한 소방시설과 방재시설의 화재안전성능 발전방향을 제시하고자 한다.
