A Study on the Impact of the Masan Line Section of the KTX Gyeongjeon Line Double-track Project on Happo Fortress Site in Habseung 1-dong

Abstract
This study examines the initial birth process of the Masan Line that passes through Happo Fortress Site located in Habseung1-dong, Masanhoewon-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, and the development of Habseung1-dong through the construction of the New Masan Station in the 1970s and the KTX Gyeongjeon Line double-track project. Research and analysis were conducted from a diachronic perspective on the impact on the decline. Through this, it is discovered that when constructing central transportation infrastructure that is difficult to restore once built, focusing only on economic efficiency without thorough understanding and research of the historical remains preserved by a village will inevitably lead to negative results. Finally, I reviewed the historical and cultural development potential of Habseung1-dong and Happo Fortress Site, and presented a future development direction for Habseung1-dong utilizing these possibilities.

본 연구에서는 경남 창원시 마산회원구 합성1동 내에 위치한 합포성지(合浦城址)를 관통하는 마산선의 최초 탄생과정과 1970년대에 이루어진 3역통합 마산역 건설과 KTX고속전철 경전선 복선화 사업을 거치면서 합성1동의 발전과 쇠락에 미친 영향에 대해 통시적인 관점에서 조사 및 분석을 실시하였다. 이를 통해 한번 만들면 되돌리기가 힘든 중추적 교통인프라를 건설할 때 한 마을이 간직한 역사적 유적에 대한 철저한 이해와 연구 없이 오직 경제적 효율성만을 강조하여 추진하면 부정적인 결과를 초래할 수밖에 없음을 발견하였다. 최종적으로 합성1동과 합포성지(合浦城址)가 지니고 있는 역사적·문화적 발전 가능성을 검토해 보았고, 이러한 가능성을 활용한 합성1동을 위한 미래발전방향을 제시하였다.
