This thesis is meaningful in that it suggests a new possibility of using the architectural cultural heritage by using projection mapping technology without damaging the architectural cultural heritage, rather than a passive and sparsely preserved architectural cultural heritage protection method. The research conclusions are as follows. First, light works of art pursue a close connection with locality in the process of storytelling, and detailed works are realized. Second, light works of art are planned to be unified with the architectural cultural heritage that is the background of the work and the work projection, without causing any damage to the representative architectural cultural heritage of the old city center using projection mapping technology. Third, the art works of Lyon’s Light Festival select the results of workshops by young artists rather than works led by the government, expand opportunities for new artists to participate, and promote citizen participation by involving students as protagonists of light art works.
본 논문은 소극적이고 박재된 건축문화유산의 보호방식이 아닌 건축문화유산에 손상을 가하지 않으면서도 프로젝션 매핑 기술을 이용해 건축문화유산의 새로운 활용 가능성을 제시하고 있다는 점에서 의미를 찾을 수 있다. 연구결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 리옹시의 빛 예술작품들은 스토리텔링 과정에서 지역성과 장소성을 강화하는 세부작품들이 구현되고 있다. 둘째, 빛 예술작품들은 구도심의 대표적인 건축문화유산들에 프로젝션 매핑 기술을 이용 아무런 손상을 입히지 않으면서 작품과 작품투영의 배경이 되는 건축문화유산과 합일화 된 작품계획이 이루어지고 있으며 도시의 브랜드가치를 높이고 있다. 셋째, 리옹의 빛 축제 예술 작품들은 관이 주도하는 작품보다는 젊은 예술가들의 워크숍의 결과물들을 선정하며, 신진 예술가들의 참여의 기회를 확대하고, 학생들을 빛 예술작품의 주인공으로 참여시키는 등 시민참여가 활성화되고 있다.
